Billable & Associates
You start with one desk, one practice in parking tickets, and a big green button that says Bill a tenth of an hour. Every tap is six minutes on somebody's invoice. Save up and open the next practice: wills and notary work, slip-and-fall, divorce, real estate closings, and on up to space law and something called Estate of the Estate, twelve in all. Each one works a round of cases on its own clock, and once you hire a paralegal it keeps billing while you're away, for up to eight hours. Rate increases make every hour worth more, and the diplomas go on the wall.
There's one matter a day, the same for everybody. Close it for a point of Reputation, a day on your streak and a place on today's board. When the firm stops growing, sell it and hang a new shingle: you keep your Reputation, and each point makes everything you bill 2% more at every firm after. On Fridays the week's invoice adds itself up so you can share it.
It's a gentle idle game and a satire of legal billing, made for grown-ups. Every lawyer, client and firm in it is invented, and honestly there are no ducks in this one, just a great many invoices. It's free to play in your browser, and the How it works button up top explains the rest.
Rate increases
Same hours, higher rates. Each one is for good, until you start a new firm.

Start a new firm
Sell this practice, keep your name. Every point of Reputation makes everything you bill 2% more, at every firm you ever start. Reputation takes billing, and it takes time: a firm earns at most a point an hour.
- You keep Reputation, diplomas, your lifetime totals.
- You leave behind cash, practices, staff and rate increases.
