Terms of Service and Licence

Last updated October 21, 2026. This page is the end user licence agreement (EULA) for every Ducklark game, and the terms for ducklark.com and for buying from us.

These terms are an agreement between you and Ducklark LLC, a New York limited liability company ("we", "us"), the company behind Ducklark Games. They cover ducklark.com, every game on it, and the Ducklark Games phone apps (Stepword, Garden Solitaire and Rewind, and any we add). One game on the site is a private preview we host for someone else, behind its own password; these terms don't cover it. By playing, installing or buying, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't play. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do and don't do with information, and applies alongside these terms.

Who can play

Our games are made for adults and teens, not for young children. You must be at least 13 to play them or use the site. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you, and they are responsible for your play and for any purchase.

Your licence to play

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to play our games for your own entertainment, on devices you own or control, for as long as we offer them and you keep to these terms. We can end it if you break them. The games are licensed to you, not sold: you don't own a copy, and nothing here transfers any right in a game, its content or our names to you. If you install a game from an app store, that store's terms also apply (see "Apps from Google Play or the App Store" below).

What you can't do

  • Copy, sell, rent, lend, sublicense or redistribute a game, or make it available to others except by sharing a link to it.
  • Change, translate, decompile, reverse engineer or make derivative works of a game, except where the law gives you a right we can't take away.
  • Use bots, scripts, cheats or automation, tamper with a game, or post false scores to a board.
  • Tamper with a game to remove, block or bypass its ads, purchases or anything else that pays for it. What you run in your own browser is your business; what we mean is altering the game.
  • Scrape or bulk-download puzzles, words, clues, questions, art, sounds or any other content.
  • Use a game or its content commercially, to train an artificial-intelligence model, or by copying it into a competing product.
  • Use our names, logos or our ducks' likenesses to suggest we endorse you or your product.
  • Try to break into, overload or disrupt the site or the services behind it, or play where it would be illegal.

Playing

Our games are free to play. You don't need an account. Your progress is kept on your own device, so clearing your browser's site data or uninstalling an app deletes it, and we can't bring it back. We may change, add or retire games and features at any time. Rewards, unlocks and anything else inside a game have no money value, can't be cashed out or transferred, and may change.

Buying

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Prices are in US dollars; sales tax or VAT is added at checkout where the law requires it.

"Remove ads" is a one-time purchase. It turns the ads off in every Ducklark game on the website for as long as we run them, on any device where you sign in with the email you bought with. If we add other purchases or a subscription, the price, what it includes, how it renews and how to cancel it are stated on the page where you buy it. Purchases in the phone apps go through Google Play or the App Store and follow their terms.

Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

Ads

The free games may show ads from Google. You see one only when you choose it, such as watching a short ad for a reward, or between rounds. Our Privacy Policy explains what that involves.

Daily boards and anything you post

Some games let you put a name and a score on a public daily board. By posting, you let us show that name and score to everyone who opens the board, for as long as we keep it. Don't use your full real name, and don't post names that are offensive, impersonate someone, or include an email address, web address or anyone's personal details. We may remove any name and any score that looks wrong, without notice.

Ideas and feedback

We love hearing ideas. If you send us a suggestion, a bug report, a puzzle idea or any other feedback, we may use it in any way, including in our games, without paying or crediting you, and you promise it's yours to give. Please don't send us anything confidential.

Comedy and satire

Some of our games are comedy. Their characters, firms, cases and stories are made up, and any resemblance to a real person or company is unintended. No person, company or product named in a game is involved in it or endorses it. If a game would be unlawful where you live, don't play it there.

Ours and yours

The games, their code, puzzles, clues, word lists, questions, story text, art, sounds and music, the photographs and recordings of our ducks, and the names Ducklark, Ducklark Games, Tiny the duck and each game's name belong to Ducklark LLC or are used under licence. Some games include open-licensed words, fonts, images or code; their own licences apply to those parts, and we credit them in the game or on this site. A purchase gives you a personal right to use what you bought; it doesn't transfer ownership of anything.

Copyright complaints

If you believe something on ducklark.com copies your work, write to support@ducklark.com with what you own, where it appears on our site, your contact details, and a statement, signed by you, that you believe in good faith the use isn't allowed and that what you've told us is accurate. If the complaint is right, we take the material down or change it, and tell you what we did.

Health

Some games have flashing effects, fast movement or repeating patterns. A small number of people may have seizures from certain flashing lights, even with no history of them. If you feel dizzy or disoriented, or notice twitching or changes in your vision, stop playing and see a doctor. Take breaks, and don't play while driving or anywhere that needs your attention.

Apps from Google Play or the App Store

If you installed a Ducklark app from Google Play, Google's terms also apply to the download, and Google handles refunds under its own rules.

If you installed one from Apple's App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to maintain or support the app; we do, so write to support@ducklark.com. If the app fails to meet a warranty, you may tell Apple, and Apple may refund what you paid for it; that is Apple's only warranty obligation. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app, for any claim about it (including product liability, consumer protection, privacy and intellectual property claims), and for its legal compliance. You may use the app only on Apple devices you own or control, as Apple's Media Services terms allow, including through Family Sharing where Apple offers it. You must also keep to any other agreement that applies when you use the app, such as your wireless carrier's data terms. You confirm that you are not in a country under a United States embargo and not on any United States list of prohibited parties. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms against you as third-party beneficiaries. Our name and address are at the end of this page.

Ending

You can stop playing at any time; uninstalling an app or clearing site data deletes your local progress. We may stop offering a game, a feature or the site, or end your licence if you break these terms, without notice. If we end your licence because you broke these terms, your purchases end with it; you can still ask for a refund under the Refund Policy within its 30 days, and after that none is owed. The parts of these terms that by their nature should continue (ours and yours, no warranty, limits on our liability, law and disputes) continue.

No warranty

The games are provided as they are. We work to keep them running and correct, but we don't promise they will always be available, free of errors, or keep your progress, and to the extent the law allows we make no other promise, express or implied, about them, including any implied promise that they are of merchantable quality or fit for a particular purpose.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, Ducklark LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for anything to do with our games is limited to what you paid for our games in the twelve months before the claim, whether you paid through Paddle, Google Play or the App Store, or ten US dollars, whichever is more. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that can't be limited.

Law and disputes

The laws of the State of New York govern these terms. If you have a problem, write to support@ducklark.com first: most things can be fixed in a few emails. Anything that can't be fixed that way is decided by the state or federal courts in New York, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction, except that either of us may use small claims court where allowed, and any right the law where you live gives you to sue there stays yours.

Changes and questions

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and if a change matters we'll say so on the site. Playing after a change means you accept it. These terms and the Refund Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the games. If any part can't be enforced, the rest still applies, and if we don't enforce a part once, we can still enforce it later. We may hand this agreement to a company that takes over our games; you may not hand it to anyone.
