Free strategy game
Strategy on Ducklark means thinking a move ahead instead of reacting. The shelf is small: one turn-based game in which you aim, watch the wind and answer your opponent’s shot.
What the strategy shelf holds
Only one game sits here, so this page goes into it more deeply than the others do: its blurb, the opening of its guide, and the headings its guide covers. Games that ask for planning but belong on another shelf, such as the puzzles, are on their own pages.
The 1 strategy game
Shellduck
Ducks in tanks. Lob a shell over the hill and mind the wind.
Shellduck is a ducks-in-helmets artillery duel on a hill, where the wind decides as much as your aim. It is a turn-based game for one or two players: each turn you set an angle and a power, then fire one shell at the other tank.
How to play Shellduck, the duck tank game: aim like a slingshot, read the wind, pick a weapon and beat par on the daily trick shot. Take aim and fire a shell.
Two tanks sit on a hilly field, each driven by a duck. Take turns firing. A tank starts with 100 hit points, and a match ends when one is knocked out and raises its white flag. If nobody has been knocked out after 40 turns, whoever has more hit points left wins.
What its guide covers: drag back, release, fire, reading the wind arrow, driving and the fuel bar, the six weapons, things in the way, the daily trick shot and par, and playing the computer or a friend.

Where to start with strategy
Open the guide first. The game has a few ideas, such as aim, power, wind and par, that are quicker to learn from a paragraph than from losing a round.
