Free virtual pet game
Pets here means a duck of your own to look after. There is one game on this shelf, and it is the slow one: hatch, name, feed and raise, and come back to see how they are doing.
What the pet shelf holds
One game lives here, so this page goes into it at more length than a list would. It shows the blurb, the start of its guide, and the headings the guide covers, so you can see what is involved before you hatch anything.
The 1 pets game
Ducklove
Real ducks from our pond. Hatch them, name them, feed them.
Ducklove has no score to chase and no levels to beat. You hatch a duck, look after it a little each day, and watch a pond fill up with your own flock. It is closer to keeping a pet than to a puzzle.
How to play Ducklove, the duck-raising pond game: choose an egg, feed, water and pet your duckling, forage for food and grow a flock. Hatch your first duck.
A new game starts at the incubator, a tray of twelve eggs, no two the same. A marker goes round the tray. Press "Stop the tray" and the egg under the marker is yours. Size and shell colour are clues: a big white egg is Pekin-sized, a little cream one a call duck. The breed stays a surprise until it hatches.
What its guide covers: choosing your first egg, fed, watered and loved, why nothing happens at night, from duckling to adult, forage: thirty seconds of dabbling, eggs, fathers and the journal, and making the pond yours.

Where to start with the pet game
Start with the guide, which lists the first things to do. Nothing in the game rushes you, which is the point of a pet.
