Free puzzle games

Puzzles are games you solve rather than survive. There is one board, one idea and no one chasing you, and several of these change every day so there is a new board whenever you come back.

What the puzzle games have in common

Each puzzle game on Ducklark is a small rule to learn and a lot of ways to apply it: slide, clear, tap, drag, deduce. Some are card or tile games in disguise, some are logic grids, and a few are puzzles with a duck theme and a gentle pace.

The 8 puzzles games

Stepword

A little story to climb every day, one letter at a time.

Garden Solitaire

Klondike with a daily deal that is always winnable.

If you have ever laid out a deck of cards on a kitchen table and tried to sort it into four tidy piles, you already know the heart of this game. Garden Solitaire is the classic version called Klondike, with big cards, a daily deal that can always be won, and an undo button that never runs out.

Flock Step

Bring the whole brood home to Tiny. Every duckling swims the same way.

You cannot steer one duckling at a time in Flock Step. Every swipe sends the entire brood in the same direction at once, and your task is to use rocks, banks and each other to bring them all to a single nest in as few swipes as possible.

Hatch Day

Flick eggs into the nest. Three of a colour hatch into ducklings.

A cluster of coloured eggs is stuck to the top of the screen, and a duck named Tiny stands at the bottom with an egg in his bill. You aim, he flicks it upward, and if it lands next to eggs of its own colour, they hatch into ducklings. You can learn it in one throw.

Pond Pairs

Clear the pile two at a time. Big duck tiles, a new pond every day.

Picture a heap of small tiles stacked in a shape, each printed with a little picture. You take the heap apart two tiles at a time, and the only trick is that you cannot take just any tile. Pond Pairs is a slow, quiet version of this old tile game, with duck eggs, feathers, pond plants and ducks on the faces.

Pondful

One duckling per row, column and pond. A new logic grid every day.

Pondful is a grid puzzle where the answer is always there to be reasoned out. You have a square of coloured ponds and a few ducklings to settle, and every placement has to be justified by the rest of the board.

Duckling Ferry Jam

Tap the boats out of the jam. Ducklings board the boat of their colour.

Imagine a crowded harbour where every little pedal boat can only move the way its duck head faces, and many have another boat parked in front. Duckling Ferry Jam is about working out which boat to free first, so the ducklings waiting on the bank can climb aboard the boat that matches them.

Nest Blocks

Drag three shapes into a straw nest. Fill a row and it bursts into feathers.

Nest Blocks asks one thing of you over and over: where does this piece fit? You are given three odd little shapes and a woven straw nest with room for sixty-four squares, and you carry on until no piece fits. Nothing drops from above and nothing is timed.

Where to start with the puzzles

Pick the style you already like. Card players tend to settle into the solitaire, tile lovers into the pairs game, and anyone who enjoys a tidy grid into the logic puzzle. Each game has a guide that covers its rules.
